weekend and the camera

end of a long work week. time to put the pedal to the metal on the golden west college study. two buildings per week. well, the weekend is here so it's time for not-thinking-about-work-mentality for a few days.

just got back from meeting up with steve, yoshi, mike, & chris at diedrich coffee down in lake forest. got a cold mocha slush. drank that thing fast...now i can't seem to sleep. my eyes are tired, but my body is just too wide awake.

time to download some more of the pictures i've been taking the past few days. gonna work on the neat oakley picture i took. kinda reminds me of the m.c. escher drawing of him holding that mirror sphere. anyway, till next time. a hui hou!

nice long weekend

just about to wrap up a fun weekend.

thursday celebration for adebanjo's birthday at q's in west l.a. got to hang out with 'zo, 'banjo, mitzi, jessica, stacy, michelle, damion, chris, ming, etc. from the syska office. oh and of course, drive the 996. thanks renzo! and happy birthday to mike...35 years young.

friday celebration part 1 for mikehonda at chicago for ribs in redondo beach. complete with mike, steve, sawee (sp?), shane, lloyd, dennis, nima & girlfriend, chris, ed, tony, & abby. everyone was able to avoid the checkpoint down on pch. fun fun times!

saturday celebration part 2 for mikehonda and jeff/dan (looose boys) at sanuki no sato (18206 s. western ave., gardena, ca 90248). yoshi, shane, leo, dan, jeff, wato, & mike. oh man...good food all the way around; beef tongue, monkfish liver, tonkatsu, uni, tako, hamachi, maguro, toro, natto (all for yoshi), ika, & spinach/bacon salad. oh yeah, and of course the seared raw beef. oh yeah...oh yeah, and the pitchers of kirin.

finally today, got to pick up a new nikon d70 kit from samy's camera in venice. it came with the body, lens, card, tripod, uv filter, and a free dslr class (TBA). can't wait to take the course and see what this camera can really do. i was able to make some test shots tonight.

oh well, it's time to call it a weekend.

nissan 240sx se

a small tribute to the nissan 240 sx se i got from my friend hiro. it was a total beater when i first got it from him. no offense hiro, but that thing was a total project...and then some. ;) here's a post i made in the nicoclub forms regarding the "rebirth".

california earthquake

just experienced a 5.3 earthquake in long beach. the building shook pretty good and a few of us at work chatted about it. it took a few seconds before the 8 story building ceased shaking and rocking. back to work. :(
